Kanye's Redemption

After that stupid, wasteful "Power" video, I was dissapointed in Kanye's (or his music video/creative team's) capacity to put trained ballerinas to good use.
HOWEVER.
minutes 17-25 of his fucking film is exactly what pop-culture needed from ballet after "Power" (and "Black Swan"). it looks like a lot of the movement if improv from the dancers, we get discinct gestural personalities, nice long shots of full body movement, close ups show sweat and the pleasure of effort in moving muscles.
it's mostly white girls in black ballet attire performing for a heaven-set table of black dinner guests sitting in front of white linen. oh yeah, and there's that eagle girl tooooo...
i love music videos.
